Edmund Scarborough [4 May 2014] ==
Edmond Scarborough (about 1616 - circa 1673) can't be William's father. Edmund's line goes:
Captain Edmond Scarborough (1584-1635) and Hanna Butler
---> Colonel Edmond Scarborough (about 1616 - circa 1673) and Mary Littelton
---> Colonel Charles Scarborough (about 1625 - about 1702).
It was known that he was a cousin to Charles and It is believed that William was the son of one of one of Edmond & Hanna's sons who remained in England (Henry maybe or some other unknown son).
