Family talk:Robert Andrews and Elizabeth Franklin (1)

There are a lot of children with duplicate names here. Anyone have an original source with children ?

I don't believe that any of the children of Robert Andrews could have been born before 1600. Robert Andrews will in 1643 states that both sons were at the time underage, and although the daughters, Alice and Abigail were both older than John & Thomas, neither daughters married until around 1640. With a birth year of 1595, this would mean that Abigail BEGAN bearing children at age 46. This can not be correct. I tend to believe the later birthdates for all of Robert's children. Presumably, according to "History of the Andrews family. A Genealogy of Robert Andrews, and his Descendants..." the only positively known children through a search of all Ipswich records are in birth order: Alice, wife of William Franklin, dec. before 1643; Abigail, wife of Daniel Hovey married at least 40 years before 1683; John (eldest son), & Thomas and maybe Elizabeth. Also, the Rebecca listed b 1621 in Ipswich is impossible place of birth.. fa Robert didn't arrive until 1633 and no mention of a Rebecca in the above cited book.. Can we abandon all those early birthdates ? After a week or so without objection, I'll merge the duplicates and leave the more recent birthdates.--Neal Gardner 15:40, 10 November 2009 (EST)

I sure wish that instead of posting a NO MERGE....an attempt to come to some agreement with the other Family Group were made. How else can we ever find the best information ?

I'm looking at these folks for the first time. Reviewing the data for Family:Robert Andrews and Elizabeth Franklin (5), they and their one named child may well have existed, but they appear to have nothing to do with Robert and Elizabeth (-----) Andrews {1634, Ipswich}.
