Authority needed for marriage date of 23 Mar 1687 [27 December 2011]

Source:Mayflower Descendant, p. 24:27, "Kenelm Baker's Will", says "the date of the marriage has not been found." Source:Torrey, Clarence Almon. New England Marriages Prior to 1700 says "by 1688". The birth record of Sarah, the eldest child, is on p. 5:234, "Marshfield, Mass., Vital Records", and gives her birthdate of 28 Oct 1688, suggesting a marriage around 1687, but where did 23 March come from? --Jrich 20:25, 7 January 2010 (EST)

P.S., it is too coincidental that his birth date is 23 Mar 1657 and his marriage date is 23 Mar 1687. Without a source, the natural assumption is that at some point somebody confused the two. --Jrich 15:02, 27 December 2011 (EST)
