Family talk:John Doane and Ann Perkins (6)

Who are all these children? [1 November 2008]

Source:The Doane family : (1) Deacon John Doane of Plymouth, (2) Doctor John Done of Maryland, and their descendants : with notes upon English families of the name lists five children for this family: John, Daniel, Ephraim, Lydia and Abigail. They may been cautious since all five are indicated in John's will. I am not a Doane expert, but have done some basic searching on this family and I cannot find mention of any of the others?

So who are Ann, Stilman, Mehitable Heman, Betsy, Thomas and Isa[i]ah?

Is it any concidence that a Heman Doane m. Mehitable Butler who had a son John Doane who had children Stillman Doane, Mehetable Doane, Betsey Doane, John Doane, Albion Doane, Corren Doane according to, for example, [1]

So fine, you say. A simple misidentification. Except that these parents were born in the 1800's about 200 years after the family this page describes. And the wife's name was not Ann Perkins, but Abigail Cobb. Other than assuming such carelessness, I can find no explanation for this.

If somebody hasn't provided some clue justifying these children in a week or so, I plan on detaching these children at that time.

I doane feel that some of the children belong in this family. I removed Person:Ann Doane (5), Person:Stilman Doane (1), Person:Mehitable Doane (1), Person:Betsy Doane (1), Person:Thomas Doane (4), and Person:Isaah Doane (1).
