Family talk:John Andrews and Sarah Holyoke (1)

Any proof that the wife Sarah was born in 1601 ? Seems a big difference in their ages...

Moved from Family page: This John Andrews and his son John Andrews are both noted as Lt. Either father and son have been confused and intermingled or the son, John has been entangled with a different John Andrews. The genealogies I've run across, including 'History of the Andrews Family' credits the son John as residing in both Ipswich and Salem. Perhaps the confusion begins there. Will try to read the NEHGR article for clarification. The father John could not have been born before ca 1621 per Robert Andrews' will, hence John son of John could not feasibly have been born before ca 1640.

Edits on Aug. 10, 2011, based on NEHGR 70:102, Great Migration, and NEHGR 147:20-21, which indicate that the 1890 Andrews history mixed up two contemporary Johns (m. Sarah and m. Jane Jordan) and the author later admitted error. The son of Robert m. Sarah Holyoke, as documented in the latter NEHGR.--Amelia 14:52, 10 August 2011 (EDT)
