Marriage Confusion [14 July 2015]
Either this Elizabeth was born around 1807 and fits the parental family, or she was born nearly 75 years earlier to fit her married family and does not fit the parental family. The Elizabeth Hepler Wilson who was born 1807 did marry a James W. Wilson, but he was born 1797 in Virginia. Unless someone indicates otherwise, this Elizabeth should be removed from the James Wilson, b. 1715, family and should not only have her parental family remain intact, but should be connected with James W. Wilson, b. 1797, Virginia, married 3 Feb 1845, Alleghany, Virginia. I have been unable to find a marriage between James Wilson, b. 1715 and another Elizabeth Hepler, which would fit this timeline. Any help would be appreciated.

- IN ADDITION to the above comments, I have since uncovered further evidence that this James Wilson is not the James who Elizabeth Hepler married. She ACTUALLY married the James who is the son of Col John Burgess Wilson...an uncle of our James Wilson. Local records did not distinguish the people who carried the same given and surnames. Mea Culpa.--Genealgurl 17:22, 14 July 2015 (UTC)
- So are you saying that the Elizabeth Hepler, b. 1807, was married to the James Wilson, b. 1739? His parents appear to be Col. John Burgess Wilson and Mary Marcus. While I find a nephew to this James, namely James Eli 'Elibab' Wilson, he is shown married to an Elizabeth Haptonstall, b. 1768, which seems to coincide with some of the comments made on this family page instead, specifically --
- "Hempenstall is her surname from previous marriage. Abraham Hempenstall was from København, Kobenhavn (Copenhagan), Denmark. He died in 1814 in Greenbrier, West VA, USA.".
- Since the Elizabeth Hepler, b. 1807 (unless there was more than one Elizabeth Hepler in that part of Virginia born in ~1807), has at least two records indicating that she was most likely married to a James W. Wilson, b. ~1797, she cannot be the wife of the James Wilson, son of Col. John Burgess Wilson. In fact, it even appears highly unlikely that she would have been married to his nephew James either. Am I mistaken in understanding your comment?

Do not merge this page with Family:James Wilson and Elizabeth Hepler (2).
