The record cited for this marriage shows no wife's name, either the index cited, or the published Gloucester VR Record that is the basis for the index. It is odd that a marriage in Marshfield would take place in Gloucester, and Gloucester records show that a James and Abigail Gardner have children born in 1708, 1711, 1715, 1719-20, 1723-4. Since no record is found for the marriage of James and Abigail, but based on their first child born in 1708, it would be right about the time of the Gloucester marriage, the missing wife's name is mostly likely Abigail. --Jrich 20:50, 20 August 2018 (UTC)
