Family talk:Hotze Wielinga and Houwkje Krotje (1)

Familynames [5 February 2012]

I renamed both partners because they were registered with familynames in the death certificate of Houkje Hotzes (1828). But I am doubting now if this is really correct as they died before May 1812, I think before the familynames were recorded--Klaas (Ekjansen) 10:58, 5 February 2012 (EST)

Well, Hotze died in 1812 using the surname Wielinga. The Naamsaanneming took place between 1811-1812, so he could have officially taken the surname (but I believe the Het Bildt records are lost). His death certificate says that he was a widower, so I am not so sure about Houwkje taking her surname Krotje. --Jennifer (JBS66) 12:36, 5 February 2012 (EST)
