Family talk:Benjamin Pryor and Ann Draper (1)

Benjamin F Pryor's 1st wife was Ann Rebecca "Lans" Draper. (See: Ancestry.com Maryland Marriages 1667-1899) Ann was born in 1842, and died during the childbirth of her third child on Oct 8, 1865.

She and Benjamin had 3 children. 1. Silas F Pryor (b Oct 1861 in MD; d 8 Oct 1938 in Seneca Co, OH)

   Silas married Katherine "Katie" Stier on 8 Aug 1885 in Seneca Co, OH.
   I think I told you Silas' story before.  He moved to Tiffin in 1874.  He "cheated death" once on 10/1/1916 when his car stalled on a train crossing near Tiffin and he jumped clear just in time.  He wasn't so lucky on 10/8/1938, when again, while crossing a RR track, his car was hit by a train and he and Katie were killed instantly.

2. Catherine M "Kate" Pryor (b c 1863). She married John Waugh. (My notes from Leah Spade, genealogist from Wolfsville, say that she had 8 children with Waugh before divorcing him around 1891.

3. Samuel Calvin Pryor (b Oct 1865, d Aug 1916 at his home in Antietam Junction, Washington Co, MD from "complications of diseases" after being ill for 3 months. Samuel married Elizabeth Ann Bowser on 7/4/1889. Their children were: Albert Pryor (b c 1896), Arthur Samuel Pryor (b c 1899); Reba E Pryor (b 11/1/1902 in PA, d 8/1983 in Chambersburg, Franklin Co, PA); Alta "Pearl" Pryor (b 2/3/1906 in PA, d 4/5/1987 in Chambersburg, Franklin Co, PA); and Robert F Pryor (b c 1912).

    Reba married Lester S Morrow and she is buried with him in Green Hill Cemetery, Franklin Co, PA.

    Alta married Leon Amsley.

Thank you Jim for this information. I did have the one child Silas in my database, but not the others. I had not included them, since they were not any relation to the SHUFF clan (as far as I know).
