After a residence of some 15 years in Virginia during which time he [Rev. William Wilkinson] buried his wife Naomi and married the Widow Budden with a daughter Elizabeth, he settled in Maryland. On October 10, 1650, he applied to his Lordship's Land Office at St. Mary's for 900 acres of land, his rights for his own personal adventure and for the transportation of his three daughters Mary, Rebecca, and Elizabeth, his wife and her daughter, and three servants - William Warren, Robert Cornish, and Anne Stevens.
