"Boston Man Will Wed Sweetheart of His Youth Methuen, Aug 4 - The culmination in marriage of a boyhood and girlhood romance will come the latter part of the Summer when Mrs. Harriet A. Dodge, 59, and William Wardwell, 62, formerly of Methuen and now of Boston, will be married at Mrs. Dodge's home, 13 Central Street in this town. Mrs. Dodge is a teacher in the Ashford School here. Both spent their early youth in this town and it was in the high school they met and their romance began. After graduation, Mr. Wardwell left Methuen - about 40 years ago - and became a postal clerk at the Boston post office. He has remained there since that time and is now in the registry department. In the meantime, both were married. Mr. Wardwell has two daughters and a son and Mrs. Dodge has a daughter, Florence E., principal of the Currier School here, and a son, Archibald, who is connected with the Travelers' Insurance Company, Providence. Recently Mrs. Dodge and Mr. Wardwell have come together again and Cupid has finally succeeded in carrying out the intentions he had in the first place. After a quiet home wedding they will make their home in Methuen." -The Boston Globe 05 August 1921
