  3.   Source:Vinton, John Adams. Upton Memorial, p. 49, includes in this family a second daughter Mary (#88), born 5 Dec 1741, twin with Jabez, who married Jacob Tucker. This caused him to infer that the first daughter Mary (#85) died young. There is a marriage record found for the marriage of Mary Upton and Jacob Tucker in Reading 7 Oct 1762. But there is no birth record for a second daughter Mary in this family, nor does the birth record for Jabez contain any indication that there was a twin, nor is there a death record for the first daughter Mary. There is no reference to the will of the father, nor an age at death, or any kind of evidence to show that the wife of Jacob Tucker comes from this family, and if she does, why she couldn't be the first daughter Mary. It is unfortunate this was not explained or justified, but given the silence of the records on this second daughter Mary, it seems like a mistake. This assertion is repeated in an article in Source:Essex Institute Historical Collections (Essex Institute Press), p. 58:215, but since this was published in 1922, it probably merely copied what Vinton said (and likewise states it as an assertion with no evidence).
