Hoyt included in this family the John Simmons who married first, at Rowley, on 9 November 1664, Elizabeth Pierce, and second, at Bradford on 19 July 1678, Mary Pierce, but did not supply evidence in support of this claim [Hoyt 600-2, 1014].
