Bailey Articles in the "Knoxville Daily Chronicle" 30 Jul 1874, 1 Aug 1874, and the "Knoxville Weekly Chronicle" 5 Aug 1874, tell about deaths by fever of the family of W. T. Rice, living on the place of Mrs. Suddath. Five deaths occured, including Mr. Rice himself, and 4 children. One week ago, one member of the household fell at the head of death and one fell each day thereafter, until six lay under his relentless power. One only remains, a little boy abut 10 years old. ....bilious fever.

Joe writes,"I noticed in your posting (5/04/01//246) that you are descended from Seaborn Senter. I am seeking information on Seaborn Senter, a sergeant in Company A, 3rd Tennessee Infantry, who enlisted at Knoxville in 1861 and was killed on a train from Manassas to Richmond. Are you related? Do you know his parents' names, where he was born, and where I might find him in the 1860 census? TN Seaborn's Father: Wm Tandy Senter b1761-? VA mar?/place? d1865 Roane Co TN. Seaborn's Mother: Wife 1-Susan Lyon b?/place? d?<Apr 1813 presumably Roane Co, TN. Seaborn Senter b1793-prob Bedford Co VA was the 4th son, 4th child of William Tandy Senter & Susan Lyon Senter). He died in 1853 and I'm not sure where he was buried. Nancy Carson [(parents unknown) b:?/place?] and Seaborn Senter were married 28 August, 1817 in Roane Co. TN. I am not sure where she was buried. I am not sure of the number or names of the children of Seaborn & Nancy Senter except for my ancestor, Albert Newton Senter b1831/place? d1879/place? If you have any information regarding dates, places, siblings, etc., it would be greatly appreciated.
Notes for TANDY S. RICE: 3. Tandy S. Rice - Born about 1802. Married Lucinda "Sindy" Senter, December 25, 1821. Don't know why he would have been called a "minor" in 1823! Especially since he was already married. Lucinda died and is buried in Rice-Netherland cemetery, McMinn County. He then married this Indiana P. ??? who sued him for divorce in 1861, and he died before 1863.
