17 May 1771 William Reynolds and Rachel his wife of the County of Guilford (or Rowan) (sic) in the Province of North Carolina of the one Part and William Field of the County and Province aforesaid of the other part. Witnesseth that the said William and Rachel for and in consideration of the sum of five shillings sterling to him in hand paid by the said William Field doth Bargain and Sell unto the said William Field all that Tract or Parcel of Land situate lying and Being in the County of Guilford (or Rowan)in the Province of North Carolina conveyed to the said William Reynolds by Timothy Terrell and Mary his wife of Orange County now Deceased by indenture dated 3 May 1753 and Registered in the office for the County of Orange, that land situate Lying and Being on the North Fork of Polecat Creek bounded by David Lewis's corner and lines of Jeremiah Reynolds and John Lewis containing in the whole 209 acres.
