It must be acknowledged that no proof has been found for the assumption of the identity of the brothers Abraham Jowett and John Jowett above with the two Rowley settlers of the same names; but the suggestion by Amos. E. Jewett of such an identity is so logical that is seems proper to show that the records might justify such a belief. It may be hoped that evidence in its support may be discovered in further research.
