Contrary to numerous trees across the Web, William is not the son of Thomas Jester b. in Virginia son of Richard, who died in about 1753. William is not mentioned in the will. As much as I would like to see it, and add it, its just not there. Several of William's descendants, also match descendants of Jacob and John who are mentioned in Thomas' will. William's wife was not Perscilla. Or even Priscilla. She was not born in Scotland. The Sillah Jester of the 1790 Edgefield, South Carolina was Priscilla JETER. And is mentioned in her father's will, whose wife was Margaret Vaughn. Abstract from Minutes of Circuit Court, Edgefield County, South Carolina 1785-1795 Extracted by Brent Holcomb 83 The court met according to adjournment 10th of April 1787. Present the worshipful Arthur Simkins, Hugh Middleton, Russell Wilson, Esquires. Priscilla Jester (sic) came into court and acknowledged her deed of gift to Thomas Jeter, William Jeter, Nancy Jeter, Elizabeth Jeter her four children which was ordered to be recorded. 1790 Census Edgefield Co., SC shows Sillah Jester as Head of Household with 2 males under 16 and 3 females, no slaves. (0-2-3-0-0) Which matches her Deed of Gift. William was supposed to still be alive in 1780
