Helen Tinker … m. at New Windsor, 13 Aug. 1628, William Hubbard. … Helen's husband may be the William Hulbard (or Hulbeard) who appeared in 1633 at Dorchester, Mass., and afterwards lived at Windsor and Hartford, Conn., and Northampton, Mass.

The Great Migration Begins sketch (II:1038-1040) of this William Hulbird does not speculate as to his origin or as to either a baptismal name or surname for his first wife, married by about 1639 and died by 1649. The first known Hulbird child was born at Windsor in 1639, eleven years after this marriage took place at New Windsor; that would make it seem unlikely that this William Hubbard was the William Hulbird of Dorchester, Windsor, Hartford and Northampton.
