I would like to share info on the Holliday, Willingham, Johnston, and Ayers families who lived on Little River in the late 1700s and 1800s. William Holliday Sr. married Ann Ayers and named a son Ayers Holliday b.ca.1760. Ayers married ca.1791 to Olivia Johnston, daughter of Samuel Johnston and Olivia McCarty of Columbia Co. After Samuel Johnston died his widow married Thomas Willingham. Ayers Holliday left Lincoln Co. ca.1808 and settled in Marion Co., MS.

Margery Holliday Hall was my gggg grandmother. She was in Copiah Co, along with her brothers John Holliday m. Sarah Ford and Ayers Holliday m. Olivia Johnson. They are the children of William Holliday and Ann Ayers. From "Early Records of Georgia" page 48

DAR records indicate that William Holliday, Jr. served as private inColonel Elijah Clarke's regiment of Georgia troops.

Jane COOPER was born about 1775 in Scotland. She died in Wilkes, Ga. She married William HOLLIDAY Sr..
