- ↑ William Alexander was the only son of Caleb and Caroline Dawson. Married at 20 to Mary Ann Spencer, he had his first child, Tom, nine months later. In two years, he was in Kansas City, Kansas, working, as family lore goes, for the railroad. The Union Pacific Started in Kansas City, Missouri. It then went to Colorado. In 1875, Clinton Buto Dawson was born in Colorado. The Southern Pacific started at Oklahoma/Texas border in Dennison, and went south and west. They mest in Utah.
Location of divorce was , , KYIt's believed Mary Ann and William were divorced in Kentucky before coming to California. In the 1920 census, Mary Ann is listed as divorced.
