There are so many William LEWIS Families out there that I hope that someone will be able to identify with someone in my husband's line. His Williiam LEWIS was born in VA about 1775 and married Charity CLAYTON who was born in NC about 1778. Stokes County Heritage-North Carolina says that William Lewis Jr. was born about 1773 and married Charisty Clayton in 1794 in Stokes County. It also states that his father was William LEWIS who was born in 1748 and whose will was probated in 1793. This will named all his children namely James, William, Jr., Mary, John, Susannah, Anny, Nancy, Washington, Samuel, and Obediah. This article also states that William Lewis (1748-1793) was married to Austy. Does anyone know about this line? I am enclosing the line in this e-mail.
