- ↑ Source:Noyes, Sybil. Genealogical Dictionary of Maine and New Hampshire, Vol. 2, p. 121, shows William of Scarboro as only known child of John of Scarboro, b. abt. 1648, had a wife Sarah in 1686, then says he moved to Newton after 1690, 3 children recorded in Boston.
Source:Burrage, Alvah Augustus. Burrage Memorial : A Genealogical History of the Descendants of John Burrage, Who Settled in Charlestown, Mass., in 1637, p. 160, says William was one of many children of John Burrage and wife Joanna of Charlestown, b. 1657, m. Sarah --- [not date given], and had the three children above plus three others. The first child listed by either source (and both) is Elizabeth, b. 1691. Leaving an unexplained gap of 5 years with no children born?
