This disagrees with many sources, such as Source:Metcalf, Isaac Stevens. Metcalf Genealogy, p. 50, which covers this family, and identifies Elizabeth as the daughter of Joseph Mayo and Esther Kendrick. It appears the answer is shown by this couple naming children Joseph and Esther, among other names.
