↑ It is not clear why Barbara is identified as the mother of Bertha Weyandt. It seems possible that Bertha's mother was any of the 3 oldest daughters (Margaret, Barbara or Maria), all of whom died unmarried, or Rachel, who married by 1875 and would have been about 18 when Bertha was born.
