Notes

Ann Robertson who married Joseph Bays on 22 March 1757 in Halifax County, Virginia [Halifax County, VA Marriage Records] is a likely sister of Rebecca Robertson who married Meshack Turner on 6 February 1760 also in Halifax County, Virginia records. Joseph Bays provided surety for Meshack and Rebecca [Robertson] Turner's marriage, which provides enough evidence to support Ann and Elizabeth as probable sisters. Additional research is necessary.

Research Notes

It is suspected that a William Robertson and Thomas Robertson (d. 1808 in Wilkes County, GA), are likely siblings of Ann and Rebecca. William Robertson is named in several records in Wilkes County, GA, in addition to a John Robertson. All are noted in the following records:

  • Page 190--Aug. 1, 1808. Thomas Robertson, dec'd, John and William Robertson appointed Admrs. ["Early Records of Georgia, Wilkes County", Vol. 1, pg. 190].
  • Page 39--Mar. 1, 1813. William Davidson, dec'd. Daniel Stalker appointed Admr. Letters dismissory granted John Robertson, Admr. Thomas Robertson, dec'd. [ibid, pg. 39]

William Robertson is named in several records of both Ann and Rebecca's families.
