  2.   A significant number of sources name Thomas' wife as Elizabeth Blood (including Source:Butler, Caleb. History of the Town of Groton, Including Pepperell and Shirley, from the First Grant of Groton Plantation in 1655, p. 440; Source:Shattuck, Lemuel. Memorials of the Descendants of William Shattuck : The Progenitor of the Families in America That Have Borne His Name, p. 368; Source:Willard, Joseph. Willard Genealogy, p. 32). However this appears to be wrong based on primary documents, including the marriage record citedS1. Source:Green, Samuel Abbott. Epitaphs from Old Burying Ground in Groton, Massachusetts, p. 257, gives the baptism record of their daughter Sarah into the Catholic church after being captured by Indians and taken to Canada, and her parents are named as Thomas Tarbell and Elizabeth Wood. NEHGR, p. 61:396, gives a petition regarding the estate of Samuel Woods, dated 24 Nov 1718, that includes among the list of grandchildren and heirs: various children of Thomas Tarbell and his wife Elizabeth who were both deceased at the time.
