    'In the "Additions and Corrections" to Austin's Genealogical Dictionary, under Stafford, is found the following: "Margaret, m. 1730, Mar. 16, Thomas Place, b. 1697, Nov. 2, of Thomas and Hannah (Cole) Place." The year of this marriage is not correct, for Sarah (Holden) Stafford in her will dated 5 Jan. 1726/7, mentions her daughter "Margaret Place" [Warwick Wills, 1:218], and Margaret appears as wife of Thomas Place in a deed in North Kingstown dated 7 Mar. 1728/9 [No. Kingstown Land Evidences, 6:43].' The author goes on to comment on these records and to conclude that the transcriber likely mistook a "2" for a "3" and that the marriage was actually 16 Mar 1720.

    In this article (published posthumously), Parsons presents evidence that James Arnold in Vital Record of Rhode Island 'conflated into one the separate lists of the births of the children of Thomas3 and Margaret (Stafford) [Place] and those of the children of Thomas2 and Hannah (Cole) Place.'

    Based on a reading of the original (badly burned) records, plus the will of Thomas2 Place and the known children of Thomas3, he presented a revised list of the children of each of these families. The revised list for Thomas and Margaret (Stafford) Place (presented on pages 79-80) is:
