This family sometimes used the name McCaslin, and sometimes used Caslin. Not sure why - although in general some families in North America would drop the prefix letters to sound less Irish (with the influx of Irish immigrants, who were often poor or sick, the Irish people were not popular.) Some of these people decades later restored the prefix to restore their heritage. Not sure if that was the case with the McCaslin/Caslin family.

Note about images:
- The St Philips Anglican Church seems to be the main church this family attended; probably due to its close proximity to the farms the McCaslin's lived on. They did seem to use some other nearby churches at times. See the information on the Thomas McCaslin - Talk page - for more information.
- St George's on the Hill is the church located in Islington (part of Etobicoke) where Thomas McCaslin and Sarah Anne Dixon were married in 1853.
- Land pictured is for general reference only. It is a neighbouring farm and 100 years later (mid 1900's)
