  2.   Most sources (e.g., Source:Newcomb, John Bearse. Genealogical Memoir of the Newcomb Family Containing Records of Nearly Every Person of the Name in America from 1635 to 1874, p. 448) say that Thomas was the son of Jedediah b. 1671. However, Source:NEHGR, p. 12:250, "Notes on the Lombard Family", says Thomas was the son of Thomas b. 1667. It is known that Thomas and Mary moved to Truro (children recorded in Barnstable to 1698, from 1700 in Truro) and in the Old North Cemetery at Truro is the grave of Capt. Thomas Lombard, d. 13 Nov 1736, in his 66th year, which works out to a birth in 1671, and seems to resolve this confusion.
