Family:Thomas Harris and Alice West (1)

The Thomas Harris who died in 1672 was not related to either the Charles City of Crixie England Harris family. He was not the son of Sgt John Harris of Charles City, was not the husband of Alice West and was not the father of Edward Harris d1677 or Thomas Harris d1688. He was born c1635 and emigrated with his parents Edward & Frances Harris c1651 to Lancaster Co., VA where he 1st married Eleanor George and had one son John Harris who married twice as a Quaker and died in IOW in 1713. After Eleanor died, he remarried to Alice Newman, dau of John Newman (whose son John witness his 1672 Will) and Robyn Atterton, and had four daughters and ONE son THomas Harris who married Judith Edwards aft Sep 1701 and died in 1712 leaving only one son Benjamin Harris who died before 1758 leaving only one daughter Mary Harris as the sole heir of Judith Edwards Harris Clarke. DNA has proven that he was not related to the Blackwater River Lower Parish of Isle of Wight Harris family.
