    • Frances living in Devonshire St, St Peter, Brighton with 5 of her children, and Grace Gorringe with her husband Robert Seal and daughter Ellen
    • Harriet living in High St, Lewes with her husband George Bailey and children George (11), Eliza (10), Joseph (8), Ellen (5), and Charles (1)
    • William living in Hanover Chapel Yard, Brighton, with his wife and 3 children, working as a gardener

  • 1847: Frances living at Hanover Lodge, Brighton
  • 1850: Frances living at Church St, Brighton, when child baptised and Frances buried

    • Frances' husband and children living at Church St, Brighton
    • William living at 4 Rose Hill East, Brighton, with his wife and 7 children, working as a gardener
    • John living at 4 Little George St with his wife and children, working as a waiter
  • 1853: Alfred married and daughter baptised in Falmer, his residence Brighton, labourer. Father given as Thomas Gorringe, deceased. William living in Rottingdean and working as a gardener when his children were baptised and first wife buried.
  • 1854: Alfred living in Little George Street, Brighton, working as a wine porter. Also living there was Jonathan Sheppard, who married Elizabeth Gorringe in 1854 - she was living at 2 Devonshire Terrace.
  • 1858: Alfred living in Boss's Gardens, Brighton, working as a porter
  • 1861 census:
    • Elizabeth Sr. in Glynde with grandson Frederick Wickison
    • Eliza living at 1 Boston Street, Brighton, with her husband George Taylor and 5 children. Also living at the same address is Alfred (widowed), with his two sons, working as a railway porter
