Thomas Burnap & Sarah Walton both of Redding were joyned in marriage by Justice John Browne May 28th 1688.
[Note: this is on a page of marriages with no town specified. Justice John Browne was a Justice of the Peace in Reading. Source:Belknap, Henry Wyckoff. Burnap-Burnett Genealogy, p. 46, says the marriage is "recorded at Concord", but the page has marriages from all over, and it is not found in the published records of Concord, so apparently not recognized as being recorded at Concord by the compiler of that work.]

  2. Source:Eaton, Lilley. Genealogical History of the Town of Reading, Mass, p. 57, adds daughters Ruth and Anna, but their birth records clearly say Thomas Jr. and they belong to the son of this couple, not to this couple. Source:Belknap, Henry Wyckoff. Burnap-Burnett Genealogy, p. 57, has a son Isaac, b. 17 Jan 1712, with the note: "Batchelder Genealogy, not found elsewhere". Source:Pierce, Frederick Clifton. Batchelder, Batcheller Genealogy, p. 387, in a footnote, giving a brief overview of the Burnap lineage (i.e., not the focus of his study) lists a child Isaac, b. 12, not 17, Jan. 1712. No such birth record is found, as indicated by Belknap, and since nothing but differing birthdates are given, considering the age of these parents, it is suspected this is confusion with the Isaac Burnap born to Joseph and Tabatha on 31 Jan 1712-3 per the Reading VRs. Only one pertinent marriage is found (1736 to Susanna Emerson), not two, so there is no evidence two Isaacs existed and no facts to guide further research.
