"Sherman, Theophilus, s. of Samuel. … m. (2) by 1697, Mary, widow of John Coltman of Wethersfield. She was m. to Coltman in 1667, and lost her first husband abt. 1688. In 1691 belated probate action on the Coltman estate was taken, and it may be surmised that the widow was on the point of remarriage at that time. On 14 Apr. 1697, in asking for distribution, the widow was called Mary Sherman."
