  2. Source:Barry, William. History of Framingham, Massachusetts, p. 449, says Samuel's wife is a granddaughter of Maj. Simon Willard, but appears to wrongly identify her as a daughter of Jonathan Willard. Mary Stevens was a granddaughter of Maj. Simon since her mother was his daughter Mary. [[Source:Willard, Joseph. Willard Genealogy] agrees with Holman above. The quitclaim by heirs of Major Simon Willard cited by Holman (Vol. 19, p. 293), does not name Samuel Wright. Cyprian Stevens "for himselfe as for his Children" is involved, which would explain this, while it is signed for by "Jonathan Willard for my selfe and sister Hannah Willard", this signature appearing to represent the only surviving children of Jonathan Willard. The names of the Wright children (particularly Cyprian, no Jonathan) also argue against Barry.
