PALMER, Mary and Samuel Walker of Hopkinton, int. July 5, 1760.
14 Feb 1760: Will of Thomas Palmer of Upton bequeaths to his honored mother Mary Palmer [Worcester Probate 44868].
Worcester Deed Vol. 62, p. 558 13 Apr 1770: David Palmer of Upton Husbandman for £2-13-4 conveys to Samuel Wood Jun'r of Upton 2 acres orchard and plow land in Upton being the land which Thomas Palmer late of Upton dec'd conveyed to his Mother Mary Palmer Al[ia]s Mary Walker late of Upton.
Hopkinton VRs, p. 380, has intentions of Samuel Walker and Mary Palmer of Upton dated 31 Jan 1764. The above items show this marriage occurred, but when is in question due to this discrepancy. Various secondary sources appear to use the 1760 date (e.g., Felt Genealogy, p. 51; "Early Settlers of Rowley" in EIHC Vol. 22, p. 292). Whether this Hopkinton record is meant to be the same event, and if so, which is right, has not been resolved.
