    "4. Samuel3 Hitchcock (John2, Luke1) son of Dea. John and Hannah (Chapin) Hitchcock, … married Sarah Weller … daughter of John and Mary (Alvord) Weller. Springfield records say, 'came and entered his intentions of marriage with Sarah Weller of Northampton and was published the same day, Oct. 15, 1698.' Northampton records add that he was 'married by Samuel (error for Solomon) Stoddard Nov. 17, 1695 [error for 1698].'
