At the Neshamina monthly meeting, on 5 1mo. [March] 1690/1, Samuel Allin Jr. and Jane Walln, daughter of Nicholas Walln, both of Neshamina, in Bucks co., Province of Pennsylvania, first published their intentions of marriage. At the monthly meeting held on 2 2mo. [April] 1691, they published their intentions for the second time, and the meeting gave their consent. Samuel and Jane were married 27 3mo. [May] 1691, at the Friends meeting house at Neshamina.[1]

    “Wheras Samuel Allin, younger, of Neshamina in ye County of Bucks and province of Pensilvania. And Jane Walln (doughter of Nicholas Walln) of Neshamina in ye County of Bucks and province aforesaid. Haveing Intentions of takeing each other in marriage, did publish their said Intentions … also did declare their said Intentions before severall publick men and womens meetings …

    “This is to Certefie … Twenty seventh day of ye third month 1691: they ye said Samuel Allin and Jane Walln appeared in a publick and Solemne Assemblie of ye aforesaid people met together for yt end and people at ye publick meeting house of friends at Neshamina in ye said County of Bucks … [each did openly declare in due ceremony]”, then subscribed 57 witnesses.
