According to Grace S Green, "After many years of searching many, many records I have found that there probably was not a 1st wife for Roger Cleveland, and that Dorcas (surname unknown) was the mother of all his children. Her surname may or may not have been Alexander, there is, however, nothing else (except the naming of the children) to indicate this. ...

The John Rowzee who witnessed the deed between Roger Cleveland and Simon Miller has no connection to Roger Cleveland, he was related to Simon Miller, and I have not found our John Cleveland's wife was a Rowzee."^[3]
