    It is not clear what evidence there is for Robert's first marriage. Presumably, the child referred to (born in 1656) was the Priscilla Thornton who married John Beamon. I could find no record of her birth, and the Beamons lived in Lancaster, Taunton and Sterling, so it is not clear what evidence there is for Priscilla being Robert Thornton's daughter.
