- ↑ At least two secondary sources claim that Robert Hinsdale's wife was Ann Woodward, daughter of Peter of Dedham. Torrey included the Hinsdale genealogy, which is one of those sources, but left Ann's surname blank. The 1993 Anderson article identifying the place and dates of baptism of the two elder children of this family mentions that the marriage record had not been found at that time, but suggested that further records for this family should be sought in the region [Redenhall, Norfolk/Syleham, Suffolk] along the Suffolk-Norfolk border. This identification of Robert Hinsdale's first wife should not be considered to be proven.
