'Two other tablets state ... and that "Robt. Fitspen" married "Cicely Jordaine." The Herald's Visitation of 1620 explains that this Robt. Fitspen was of Weymouth, in Dorsetshire, and the father of David Phippen ... and that his wife Cicely was the "daughter of Thomas Jordon," also of Dorsetshire. The parish records of Melcomb Regis, the adjoining town to Weymouth, record their marriage "18 Sept. 1580, ..."'
