(Richard1) d. Woodstock, m. Dec. 24, 1742 Sarah Manning (both of Woodstock), b. Billerica, Mass., Mar. 27, 1723, d. Woodstock Nov. 12, 1801, age 78, daughter of Ephraim Manning and Mary Thompson. Sarah Manning came with her parents to Woodstock in 1728. In 1743 Richard bought of Col. Thomas Chandler for £400 the ten acres, with old house, where the Flynn Cottage now stands. John Payson and Samuel Lillie were witnesses to the deed. The land was once the property of Josiah Tiffany. In 1751 Richard and his wife Sarah sold to Benjamin Frissell their share of land which came from estate of Ephraim Manning. Richard was a blacksmith. The autographs of Richard and his son John appear in the Account Book of Capt. Matthew Bowen.
- ↑ Both Richard & Sarah were given exact same birth and death dates. Eliminated birth for Richard, searching for death date for either (not necessary for Sarah). No entry for Richard in either Billerica or Roxbury VR.
