Richard Barns of Marlborough. &. Elisabeth Stimpson of water town wear Joyned in Marriage by mr Henry Gibbs minister in water town mach: 12: 1700:1. [Note: Also found in the East Precinct Records (Vol. 4) p. 131.]
↑Source:Hudson, Charles. History of the Town of Marlborough, Middlesex County, Massachusetts, p. 315, gives this marriage to the son, apparently assuming it was about time a young man born in 1674 settled down and married, however it is the father that names a wife Elizabeth in his will, There are no children born to the son before his actual marriage in 1715, and the age of Mrs. Stimson/Stimpson make it clear she was marrying the older man.
