In 1946, 1949 and 1950, Ralph was a bartender at Clark's Tavern/Bar & Grill. They were living at 4205 Winter Street in Fort Wayne, Indiana. In 1950, Marie was a waitress at Clark's Bar & Grill.

Ralph's obituary reads, "RALPH J. VENDERLEY, 85, of Fort Wayne, died yesterday in St. Joseph Medical Center. The Allen County native retired in 1972 as a route salesman for Holsum Bakery after 33 years. Surviving are his wife, Marie, a daughter, Sharon M. Phipps of Stockton, Mo.; a son, Curtis D. of Fort Wayne; a sister, Agnes Meek of Fort wayne; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Services are 10 a.m. Saturday in Mungovan & Sons Memorial Chapel, 2114 S. Calhoun St., where calling is 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. tomorrow. Burial will be in Covington Memorial Gardens."
