    Before me, the Royal Notary of the Province of Louisiana and a resident of New Orleans, appeared Mr. Charles Pierre Maret de LaTour, legitimate son of Mr. Pierre Maret de La Tour, retired Captain of the Infantry, and of Dame Pelagie Darensbourg, deceased, a native of the German Parish of St. Charles of this Colony, a minor, with Demoiselle Jeane Lavergne, minor daughter of Mr. Charles de LaVergne, a retired captain of the Infantry, and of the deceased Dame Marie Carriere, his wife, her father and mother, a native of this City of New Orleans, Parish of St. Louis. The named Sieur de Lavergne stipulating for his minor daughter.

    Signing on the part of the future groom - Mr. Charles Fredrich Darensbourg, Captain and Commandant of the Germans, his grandfather and Mr. Jacques de Lachaise, Guard of the King's storehouse and Counsellor on the Superior Council of this Province.

    And on the part of the future bride - Mr. Jean Trudeau, Officer of the Troops and of the Infantry, Mr. Francois Paschalis de la Sostiere de La Barre retired Captian of the Cavaliers, Mr. Boisclair, Mr. Dutillet, Pierre Fredrick Darensbourg uncle of the future groom and Mr. Carriere, uncle of the future bride and Louis Tixerante retired Officer fo the Infantry.

    A mutual promise this marriage to be solomnized in the Holy Roman Church.

    The fiture groom gives the future bride a gift of 6,000 livres as prefix dower, principle to be held intact for any children born of this marriage, secured by mortgage on all property.

    The future bride also brings to the marriage 3,000 livres, which the Sieur DeLavergne promises to pay annually as a pension until the succession of her mother is settled. Groom receives the sum of 1,200 livres annually for three years, at which time he is to receive the sum of 24,000 livres.
