From: Auswanderer-Nachweise, Hessisches Staatsarchiv Darmstadt: (http://www.hadis.hessen.de)

Philipp Jacob Hauck (54, b 1797; farmer) and Margaretha geb Hauck (no age) and their six children applied to emigrate March 1841:

  1. Barbara (26; b 1815)
  2. Angelica (23; b 1817)
  3. Philip (19; b 1821)
  4. Elisabet (16; b 1825)
  5. Johann (14; 1827)
  6. Anna Margarethe (11; b 1830)

Montezuma Passenger list, arrving NYC July 1841:

  1. Houck, Philip Jacob 54
  2. Houck, Margaretta 55
  3. Houck, Barbara 26
  4. Houck, Angelia 23
  5. Houck, Philip 16
  6. Houck, Anna Elizabeth 18
  7. Houck, Margaretta 2 10
  8. Houck, John 12

Immediately above that listing is probably his son, Gabriel and his just-married wife, Catherine Ebert (see Gabriel’s record).

In 1850, Philip, the father, is 64 and living with Gabriel Hauck and Catherine in Collins, Erie Co., NY. I cannot find the rest of the family in 1850.

In 1860, Philip is 70, and living with son, Philip Jr and wife Caroline.
