Philip and Sarah married in Butler co. OH in 1813. Philip's parents, who are unknown, may possibly have their roots in the area of Hardy co. West Virginia as do the Randalls.

Sarah's father, Felix Randall was in Butler co. at the time of their marriage. Their oldest son Warner was born in 1814 in KY and it is very possible that they lived on the other side of the Ohio River early in their married life. The Ohio makes a big loop to the north in that area, making a part of KY quite close to Butler co. However, they definitely lived in Butler co. when the first three girls were born. Between 1820-23 they moved to Vermillion co. IN. Philip and Sarah's childrens names reflect her Randall family heritage. Her brother, Jacob Randall migrated to Vermillion co. IN with them.
