Owen's obituary read, "Owen N. Falls, 71, resident of New Haven until a few years ago, died yesterday of pernicious anemia at his home in South Milford after an illness of six months. He was born in New Haven. Surviving are the widow, Myrtle; five daughters, Mrs. Clarence Townsend of Monroeville, Mrs. Cletus Ternet and Mrs. Clifford Rodenbeck of Fort Wayne and Mrs. James Hewitt and Mrs. George Halbig of Phildelphia; one son, Kenneth of Chicago; five sisters; two brothers; 13 grandchildren, and one great-grandchild. Funeral services will be held Sunday at 2:30 p.m. in the United Brethern church near New Haven, Rev. Wayne Eiler of South Milford officiating. Burial will be in the Stephen cemetery." Myrtle's obituary read, "Services for Mrs. Myrtle Black Falls, 83, R. R. 1, Wolcottville, will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday in Berhalter-Hutchins Funeral Home, Kendallville, the Rev. Howard Tyner officiating. Burial will be in Van Buren Cemetery, Van Buren. Mrs. Falls, the mother of John E. "Jack" Black, a printer for Fort Wayne Newspapers, Inc., died at 7:15 a.m. yesterda in McCray Memorial Hospital, Kendallville. She was a native of Batholomew County and resided in Wolcottville. She was a member of the United Methodist Church, South Milford. Also surviving are four stepchildren, including Mrs. Etta Townsend and Mrs. Ruth Rodenbeck, Fort Wayne, and Kenneth Falls, Columbia City; three brothers, Norval and Timothy Hines, Jennings County, and Mel Hines, Seymour; two sisters, Mrs. Ivah Beekman, South Milford, and Mrs. Minnie Rocky, Jennings County; and one grandchild.
