Family:Orlando Middleton and Lydia Penfield (1)

Initially, I didn't trust this family documented in Penfield Genealogy, p. 119. Note that the two daughters were born twenty years after their marriage.

In fact, in 1880, Orlando F. Middleton is living in NYC with a wife Lily, both 41. He's a steamboat clerk, b. CT. No children.

But here they are in the 1900 census, still in NYC. Middleton, Olrando [indexed as Charles], m. 30 years; b. Sept 1840, electrician -, Lidia, b. Aug. 1845, five births, 3 living (only two with them; where's the third? Penfield Genealogy doesn't name a third) -, Edna [not Etta as Penfield says], b. Apr 1884, 16 single, b. NY -, Helen E., b. Dec 1885 NY

No sign of any of them in 1910.
