Noah appears on the 1840 Jackson Co., GA census. In 1850 he was in Franklin Co., GA. This is his family, according to that census: 1850 Franklin Co., GA, pg. 76 Noah Driskill age 42 b. GA farmer 500 acres, Martha Driskill age 43 b. SC, MaryAnn Driskell age 20 b. GA, Sarah (I/J?) Driskill age 18 b. GA, Noah T. Driskill age 13 b. GA, Nancy A. Driskill age 11 b. GA, Martha C. Driskill age 9 b. GA, Haimer(poss. Hannah?) Driskill age 7 b. GA By 1860 his family was in Craighead Co., AR, but he was not listed. I suspect he died on the trip to AR or shortly after arriving there. I did not find Martha on the 1870 census so she may have died. All the girls were probably married by this time as none are listed as Driskell on the census. Son Noah Tilman may have died in the Civil War: Rapley's Sharpshooters - Driskell, Noah Tilman - Co. D Private. Enlisted at Greensboro, Greene county, Arkansas, by Major Shaw, March 11, 1862; transferred to Co. D, 12th Arkansas Battalion, June 30, 1862; absent sick in hospital at Jackson, Mississippi, since February 4, 1863. |
